Tea for two

Whats classier than a set of teacup and saucer? Few things I should think :) But seriously teacups are everywhere and not just since a certain pop artist started dressing up and parading around with one but, well, since we were kids...does anyone remember riding in their 1st teacup and saucer?
Cup and saucer ride
I went antiquing recently and decided I would follow in my mothers foot steps and purchased my 1st teacup and saucer(It felt good). My mother has been collecting for some time now and has a really great collection.
Moms collection
She displays them on a rack and while I am far from a "collection" I was researching a way to display my cup and saucers.
I wouldn't have enough space for this but its amazing (maybe with minis?)

I love decoration with pieces from everyday life, love this idea.

I shouldn't however sell myself short because in all actuality I have a mini teacup and saucer ( I received as a parting gift from a dear friends baby shower) that my oldest son actually uses when we have tea.

I enjoy out of the norm teacups very much and hope to flush out my collections with some pieces like this:

My mother had a brilliant idea and used teacups and saucers as "Thinking Of You" giveaways, she would hand them out with her very own home-made tea mix and a cute little "Think Of You" card attached. I found some other D.I.Y ideas incorporating teacup and saucers.

And of course for the common man a chandelier :)

Ever since the new Alice in Wonderland, Tea time themed accessories have became very popular and as a big Tim Burton fan I would say I rather enjoy some of the more creative pieces.

Rings

Bangels

My personal favorite teacup and saucer search landed me these cool pictures.

So whether its a new collection, displaying a growing collection or accessorizing/wearing your collections think out of the box :)

Its T-shirt time!

While looking for a 'lil something special for my sons 1st birthday, I browsed Etsy for a unique 1st Birthday onesie to come along side my "music" themed birthday or one so cool/personal it would stand alone. Not only did I not find what I was looking for I found my self thinking "I could make these"(well some of them) or I could tailor some of these ideas and make something I REALLY wanted, thus started my shirt and onesie making experiences. The process that I found the cheapest and most do-able for me was by using wax paper. I found a how to video on Youtube and picked up tips and do's and don'ts by googling and surfing the web. The following is the step by step process I use and  Ephraim's 6th birthday shirt.
1.Pick a image or draw your own

2. Trace on matte side of the wax paper

3.Cut out with scissors craft knife ect.

4.Iron shiny side down onto fabric

5.Paint

6.Iron

7.Peel

The possibilities are endless. I like to break out of the mold so this is a great way to either spruce up some "almost" there cloths, give a inexpensive unique Birthday,Anniversary,Christmas present or to put your OWN special touch to something.
